Zurek gave a lecture and hands-on workshop at this summer school.

Zurek gave an educational talk on crystal structure prediction and a hands-on workshop on using the XtalOpt evolutionary algorithm at the PARADIM (Platform for the Accelerated Realization, Analysis, and Discovery of Interface Materials) Materials Innovation Platform held at Johns Hopkins University. The theme of the school was “Data Driven Materials Discovery: From ML to Maker Space”.

The Summer School’s goal was to teach students to use a data-driven approach to guide the design and synthesis of quantum materials with targeted properties.
